{"id":1301,"date":"2023-08-24T13:37:28","date_gmt":"2023-08-24T04:37:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/?p=1301"},"modified":"2023-08-24T13:37:28","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T04:37:28","slug":"edf-renewables-north-america-places-multi-year-order-for-up-to-7-gw-of-canadian-solars-made-in-usa-modules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/2023\/1301.html","title":{"rendered":"EDF RENEWABLES NORTH AMERICA PLACES MULTI-YEAR ORDER FOR UP TO 7 GW OF CANADIAN SOLAR&#8217;S MADE-IN-USA MODULES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SAN DIEGO&nbsp;and&nbsp;GUELPH, ON,&nbsp;Aug. 9, 2023&nbsp;\/PRNewswire\/ &#8212;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadiansolar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canadian Solar Inc.<\/a>&nbsp;(NASDAQ: CSIQ) and&nbsp;EDF Renewables North America&nbsp;today announced the signing of a multi-year module supply agreement to deliver up to 7-gigawatts (GW) of high efficiency N-type TOPCon solar modules to be produced at&nbsp;Canadian Solar&#8217;s&nbsp;new factory in&nbsp;Mesquite, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the agreement,\u00a0Canadian Solar\u00a0will be supplying its latest high efficiency N-Type TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) solar modules to support\u00a0EDF Renewables&#8217;\u00a0project pipeline in the\u00a0U.S.\u00a0between 2024 and 2030. The TOPCon modules will solidify\u00a0Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0mission to provide the best return on investment for its customers. TOPCon modules boast high conversion efficiencies of up to 22.5%, a low temperature coefficient of -0.30%\/degrees C, low LID (Light Induced Degradation) resulting in a low power degradation, and improved bifaciality over Mono-PERC modules, all resulting into an increased energy production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In\u00a0July 2023,\u00a0Canadian Solar\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/investors.canadiansolar.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/canadian-solar-announces-us-module-manufacturing-facility\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a>\u00a0it would invest over\u00a0$250 million\u00a0in a state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic module factory in\u00a0Mesquite, Texas. Once fully ramped up, the factory would have an annual output of 5 GW and create approximately 1,500 skilled jobs.
