{"id":1360,"date":"2023-11-07T12:58:36","date_gmt":"2023-11-07T03:58:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/?p=1360"},"modified":"2023-11-07T12:58:36","modified_gmt":"2023-11-07T03:58:36","slug":"canadian-solar-announces-u-s-solar-cell-manufacturing-facility-in-jeffersonville-indiana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/2023\/1360.html","title":{"rendered":"CANADIAN SOLAR ANNOUNCES U.S. SOLAR CELL MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>GUELPH, ON,&nbsp;Oct. 30, 2023&nbsp;\/PRNewswire\/ &#8212;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadiansolar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canadian Solar Inc.<\/a>&nbsp;(the &#8220;Company&#8221; or &#8220;Canadian Solar&#8221;) (NASDAQ: CSIQ), headquartered in&nbsp;Guelph, Ontario, today announced that it is establishing a 5 GW Solar PV cell production facility at the&nbsp;River Ridge Commerce Center&nbsp;in&nbsp;Jeffersonville, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Canadian Solar\u00a0is building a state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing plant with an annual output of 5 GW, equivalent to approximately 20,000 high-power modules per day. \u00a0The Jeffersonville facility represents a projected investment of more than\u00a0$800 million\u00a0and will create approximately 1,200 skilled high-tech jobs once production is fully ramped up. The solar cells produced at this facility will be used at the previously announced 5 GW module assembly plant in\u00a0Mesquite, Texas. Production at the\u00a0Jeffersonville\u00a0facility is expected to begin by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0strong advanced manufacturing sector positions the state to help lead the global energy transition, developing and powering new solutions in batteries, solar and hydrogen,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Governor\u00a0Eric Holcomb<\/strong>. &#8220;Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0new\u00a0U.S.\u00a0location in\u00a0Jeffersonville\u00a0will put our skilled\u00a0Hoosier\u00a0workforce at the center of cultivating solar power, making energy efficient panels more accessible to consumers across the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>United States\u00a0Senator\u00a0Mike Braun<\/strong>\u00a0stated, &#8220;Indiana\u00a0is a proud leader both in the Midwest and the country in manufacturing and innovation.
