GUELPH, ON,\u00a0July 18, 2024\u00a0\/PRNewswire\/ —\u00a0Canadian Solar Inc<\/a>.\u00a0(the “Company” or “Canadian Solar”) (NASDAQ: CSIQ)\u00a0today announced that\u00a0e-STORAGE<\/a>, which is part of the Company’s majority-owned subsidiary\u00a0CSI Solar Co., Ltd.\u00a0(“CSI Solar”), has been awarded a contract of 11 MW AC \/ 22 MWh AC energy storage solutions\u00a0by\u00a0Root-Power Ltd.\u00a0(“Root-Power”), part of the\u00a0YLEM Group. The energy storage solutions will be used for\u00a0Root-Power’s\u00a0Coryton Energy Park project, in Corringham,\u00a0Essex, England.\u00a0Construction of the project started in late\u00a0May 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

e-STORAGE and\u00a0Root-Power\u00a0have entered into an Energy Storage Supply Agreement and Long-Term Service Agreement.\u00a0Root-Power\u00a0plans to build over 1 GWh energy storage systems in the\u00a0UK, over the next three to four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coryton project will employ\u00a0Canadian Solar’s\u00a0SolBank\u00a0energy storage solution. Certified under UL standards for safety and performance, SolBank features high-density lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cells, an active balancing Battery Management System (BMS), and an innovative liquid cooling Thermal Management System (TMS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its superior energy density and compact design, SolBank offers significant land cost savings, making it an economical choice for large-scale projects adapted to\u00a0UK\u00a0project requirements. The battery’s intelligent control system and plug-and-play setup also streamline commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
