(the &#8220;Company&#8221; or &#8220;Canadian Solar&#8221;) (NASDAQ: CSIQ)\u00a0today announced the appointment of\u00a0Colin Parkin\u00a0as a member of its Board of Directors and his promotion to President of\u00a0Canadian Solar.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parkin succeeds\u00a0Yan Zhuang\u00a0on the Company&#8217;s Board of Directors and assumes the role of the Company&#8217;s President from Dr.\u00a0Shawn Qu, effective immediately.\u00a0Dr. Qu, the Founder of\u00a0Canadian Solar, continues to serve as the Company&#8217;s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Parkin&#8217;s promotion will allow\u00a0Dr. Qu\u00a0to focus on long-term strategy and technology innovation, as the Company continues to expand its investments and manufacturing operations in\u00a0North America.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conjunction with Parkin&#8217;s appointment, the Board also appointed\u00a0Dylan Marx\u00a0as Chief Operating Officer.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, these leadership changes underscore the Company&#8217;s commitment to developing internal talent and to maintaining strong collaboration and execution across its global subsidiaries.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parkin is a 20-year veteran of\u00a0Canadian Solar\u00a0and most recently served as President of the Company&#8217;s subsidiary, e-STORAGE, a utility-scale energy storage manufacturer and service provider. Prior to his role at e-STORAGE, Parkin served as Vice President of\u00a0Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0Energy Group, now known as Recurrent Energy, and previously held roles as General Manager of\u00a0Canada\u00a0and Vice President of Engineering and Projects. Before joining\u00a0Canadian Solar, Parkin founded\u00a0Integrated Manufacturing Technologies\u00a0(IMT) and held roles at\u00a0Photowatt International\u00a0and\u00a0Automation Tooling Systems\u00a0(ATS). Parkin studied Manufacturing Engineering at\u00a0Fanshawe College\u00a0in\u00a0London, Ontario.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marx joined\u00a0Canadian Solar\u00a0in 2013 and most recently served as Corporate Vice President of Operations and President of Operations and Maintenance (O&amp;M) for the Company&#8217;s subsidiary, Recurrent Energy.
