{"id":443,"date":"2020-02-21T15:48:34","date_gmt":"2020-02-21T06:48:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/?p=443"},"modified":"2020-03-16T10:12:48","modified_gmt":"2020-03-16T01:12:48","slug":"canadian-solar-completes-sale-of-56-3-mwp-solar-power-plant-in-japan-for-jpy-22-3-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/2020\/443.html","title":{"rendered":"CANADIAN SOLAR COMPLETES SALE OF 56.3 MWP SOLAR POWER PLANT IN JAPAN FOR JPY 22.3 BILLION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"xn-content\">\n<p><location value=\"LU\/ca.on.guelph\" idsrc=\"xmltag.org\">GUELPH, Ontario<\/location>, <chron>Feb. 18, 2020<\/chron> \/PRNewswire\/ &#8212; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.canadiansolar.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><org value=\"CSIQ\" idsrc=\"xmltag.org\">Canadian Solar Inc.<\/org><\/a> (the &#8220;Company&#8221;, or &#8220;<org value=\"CSIQ\" idsrc=\"xmltag.org\">Canadian Solar<\/org>&#8220;) (NASDAQ: CSIQ), one of the world&#8217;s largest solar power companies, announced today it completed the sale of <location>Yamaguchi Shin Mine<\/location>, a 56.3 MWp operational solar power plant in the Yamaguchi Prefecture in <location value=\"LC\/jp;LB\/eas\" idsrc=\"xmltag.org\">Japan<\/location>. <\/p>\n<p>Hana Financial Investment, a subsidiary of <org>Hana Financial Group<\/org>, acquired the solar power plant for an enterprise value of approximately <money>JPY 22.3 billion<\/money> (around <money>USD 205 million<\/money>). <org value=\"CSIQ\" idsrc=\"xmltag.org\">Canadian Solar<\/org> expects to recognize the revenue from the transaction in the first quarter of 2020. This sale was originally planned to close in the fourth quarter of 2019 but was delayed due to regulatory and contractual obligations required to be met prior to closing the transaction.<\/p>\n<p><location>Yamaguchi Shin Mine<\/location> reached commercial operation in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/investors.canadiansolar.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/canadian-solar-converts-golf-course-56mwp-solar-power-plant\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><chron>May 2018<\/chron><\/a> and is powered by <org value=\"CSIQ\" idsrc=\"xmltag.org\">Canadian Solar<\/org> high efficiency <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadiansolar.com\/module\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">modules<\/a>. The electricity generated is being purchased by <org>Chugoku Electric Power Company, Inc.<\/org> at the rate of <money>JPY 36.0<\/money><money>($0.32)<\/money> per kWh for 20 years.<\/p>\n<p><org value=\"CSIQ\" idsrc=\"xmltag.org\">Canadian Solar<\/org> will continue to provide asset management as well as operational and maintenance services for the plant after the transaction.
