GUELPH, ON,\u00a0Jan. 5, 2021\u00a0\/PRNewswire\/ —\u00a0Canadian Solar Inc.<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(“Canadian Solar”) (NASDAQ: CSIQ) today announced it\u00a0has sold an ownership interest in its\u00a0Hays\u00a0and\u00a0Jenner\u00a0solar projects to\u00a0BluEarth Renewables<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(“BluEarth”). BluEarth will also assume management responsibilities of the projects. Located in southeast\u00a0Alberta, both projects are 31 MWp\u00a0(23 MWAC<\/sub>) in size. The projects\u00a0are co-owned by Conklin M\u00e9tis\u00a0Local 193, an indigenous community based in the rural hamlet of\u00a0Conklin and\u00a0part of the Athabasca Oil Sands region in eastern\u00a0Alberta.\u00a0Both projects\u00a0are expected to start\u00a0commercial operation in 2021.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Hays\u00a0and\u00a0Jenner\u00a0solar projects will use\u00a0Canadian Solar’s\u00a0bifacial modules<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and single-axis trackers, further commercializing this technology in\u00a0Canada\u00a0after being first deployed on\u00a0Canadian\u00a0Solar’s Suffield Solar Project<\/a><\/span>, which is now owned by BluEarth.<\/p>\n
