Revenue from the transaction will be recognized in Q1 2021 and commercial operation is anticipated in late 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Slate project is a 300 MWac solar plus 140.25 MW \/ 561 MWh\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csisolar.com\/energy-storage\/\">storage project<\/a>\u00a0located in\u00a0Kings County, California, and has commenced construction.\u00a0Canadian Solar&#8217;s<span id=\"spanHghltd416\">\u00a0majority<\/span>-owned energy storage subsidiary, System Solutions and Energy Storage (&#8220;SSES&#8221;), will\u00a0<span id=\"spanHghlt8190\">provide the\u00a0battery<\/span>\u00a0storage integration\u00a0<span id=\"spanHghlt1f7d\">solution\u00a0<\/span>for the project. Additionally,\u00a0PNC Bank\u00a0is providing a tax equity commitment to the project, which demonstrates its pledge to not only manage its own operations in an environmentally sustainable manner, but also to support clients with innovative financing options as the world transitions to a low-carbon economy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The project has signed PPAs with five different off-takers, four of which are solar and energy storage, and one that is solar-only.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr.\u00a0Shawn Qu, chairman and CEO of\u00a0Canadian Solar\u00a0stated, &#8220;The Slate project is Recurrent Energy&#8217;s largest solar-plus-storage project and represents continued investment in a community where we have done business for nearly a decade.\u00a0<span id=\"spanHghlt28e8\">Given the huge market opportunity presented by battery storage, both standalone as well as paired with solar, we have focused significant resources in developing our own technological, servicing and financing solutions over the past few years. The power plant will utilize approximately 962,000 of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csisolar.com\/module\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0high efficiency bifacial\u00a0BiKu modules<\/a>\u00a0across approximately 2,400 acres in\u00a0Kings County, California.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Qu\u00a0added, &#8220;We applaud our Slate customers for their commitment to use solar generation coupled with expanded storage capacity to enable a cleaner energy economy and brighter future in\u00a0California.
