{"id":683,"date":"2021-04-13T17:40:19","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T08:40:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/?p=683"},"modified":"2021-04-13T17:22:42","modified_gmt":"2021-04-13T08:22:42","slug":"canadian-solar-starts-mass-production-of-210-mm-large-cell-modules-of-up-to-665-w","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadiansolar-energy.co.jp\/en\/news_release\/2021\/683.html","title":{"rendered":"CANADIAN SOLAR STARTS MASS PRODUCTION OF 210 MM LARGE CELL MODULES OF UP TO 665 W"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GUELPH, ON,\u00a0April 12, 2021\u00a0\/PRNewswire\/ &#8212;\u00a0Canadian Solar Inc.\u00a0(the &#8220;Company&#8221;, or &#8220;Canadian Solar&#8221;) (NASDAQ: CSIQ), today announced that it has started mass production of high-power, high-efficiency modules with power output of up to 665 W.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new generation of\u00a0<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><u><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.csisolar.com\/hiku7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">monofacial HiKu7<\/a><\/u>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><u><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.csisolar.com\/bihiku7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">bifacial BiHiKu7<\/a><\/u>\u00a0<\/span>modules are based on 210 mm cells and are set to deliver one of the most competitive levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) in the industry by reducing balance of system (BOS) and other costs for solar power plants. These modules have been optimized with leading tracker and inverter designs to ensure seamless installation of solar systems.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The nameplate production capacity of\u00a0<span id=\"spanHghlt02a1\">the HiKu7 and BiHiKu7 modules<\/span>\u00a0will reach 10 GW by the end of 2021,\u00a0<span id=\"spanHghlt6d36\">of which a significant portion has already been booked.<\/span>\u00a0The Company will deliver the first batch of the new high-power, high-efficiency modules<span id=\"spanHghltcbe7\">\u00a0this month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The HiKu7 and BiHiKu7 modules are expected to solidify\u00a0Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0technology leadership by offering:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Power classes of up to 665 W and module efficiencies of up to 21.4%.<\/li>\n<li>Commercial deployment of\u00a0Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0proprietary cell technology and module design, including hetero-type ribbon (HTR) and paving technology. Both technologies reduce the gap between solar cells by more than 50%, thereby increasing the power output of solar modules over the same area.<\/li>\n<li>Further reduction of light-and elevated temperature-induced degradation (LeTID) using Canadian Solar Advanced Regeneration (CSAR) technology. This technology further reduces cell and module power degradation under light and at high temperatures, increasing power output of solar modules and lengthening their useful lifetime.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent value for commercial and utility scale PV plants, reducing balance of system costs by up to 5.7% and LCOE by up to 8.9% relative to mainstream 445 W modules.<\/li>\n<li>Certified by VDE according to IEC61215 and IEC61730 product standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr.\u00a0Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO of\u00a0Canadian Solar\u00a0remarked, &#8220;I am excited to announce that we have begun mass production of the 210 mm cell-based HiKu7 and BiHiKu7 modules, which marks another milestone for\u00a0Canadian Solar\u00a0as the leader in high power cell and module technologies.
