The energy awarded will be acquired by a pool of reputable off-takers and will start delivering clean energy from 2023 through an inflation-indexed, Colombian Peso-denominated, 15-year power purchase agreement. The solar PV project has already completed the consultation process with indigenous communities (<i>Consulta Previa<\/i>) and is expected to start construction by the second quarter of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This project represents\u00a0Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0second landmark achievement in\u00a0Colombia, after the recent awarding of<span style=\"color: #993300;\">\u00a0<a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/investors.canadiansolar.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/canadian-solar-wins-first-energy-storage-project-colombia-45-mwh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">the country&#8217;s first utility-scale, stand-alone 45 MWh battery storage project<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>located in\u00a0Barranquilla.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr.\u00a0Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO, commented, &#8220;This achievement reinforces\u00a0Canadian Solar&#8217;s\u00a0leadership position in\u00a0Latin America\u00a0and solidifies our entry into the Colombian market.
